Readings

I have now caught up with the readings and have learnt a great deal. The book 'Meaningful Learning with Technology' is a great source for those that are interested in technology and how it relates to education. This link provides some information about the book.
Instead of writing about each chapter I thought I would talk about parts that were especially helpful for me. Chapter 7 helped me a great deal when I was creating my blog. Before this unit I wasn't even sure what the word 'blog' even meant. The book provided a great definition. "Blog's- short for "web logs"- are means of enhancing and supporting meaningful communication between learners" This helped me establish what I was writing about.
Chapter 1 was also very interesting. Being the first chapter I thought I wasn't going to have a great deal of information, however it did. The most interesting point for me was the fact that students should learn to learn with technology not from technology. I agree with this point to a great extent, when I was in school the computers were only used to reproduce what the teacher had said in class not to use it to extend our knowledge.
